Tom brings a range of skills to Aston daily, but above all it is his warmth and focus on our interactions with colleagues and clients that make him outstanding to work with. As he puts it, “I have always enjoyed fostering new relationships with people, in friendship or in business, as I’m a people person.” This has meant Tom has been an excellent fit within our team, as a great communicator within the business.
Tom’s previous working background extends beyond real estate, with Aston being his very first foray into property. Before joining us, he worked across customer service, hospitality, sport and leisure and ran his own business home services business running a roster of 20 plus clients. He also has qualifications in business management and property. As a result of his range of experiences, Tom enjoys being highly organised and structured.
On an average week with us, Tom works within our Leasing team, conducting inspections, reviewing tenant applications and preparing leases. This involves interfacing with many of our owners and tenants, both existing and potential, while being involved in negotiating terms and ensuring leasing arrangements are undertaken smoothly.
When asked about what excites him about Commercial Property, Tom is emphatic. It’s all about people and having great interactions with clients and tenants. According to him, “This is an industry where I have the opportunity to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues and interact with different people which I really enjoy. It’s fast paced, so every day is different.”
When the week draws to a close, Tom tends to get even more active. Keen on fitness, he goes on runs, heads to the gym, swims and boxes and occasionally rolls up his sleeves assisting his godfather with manual labouring.
